If you're wondering, 'Did he old on for the win?' It appears he did as he's listed as running 14:52 with 2nd place being 15:55. However, those must be unofficial results as I don't see scores of DQs having been issued yet for all the people cutting the course behind him. ;)

Park run in Atlanta every Saturday morning at Bitsy Grant tennis center. Wonderful event, good course, nice people. Not sure why it’s not real popular. It’s free and that sure beats paying 45 to 50 bucks for some ridiculous 5k with a crummy t shirt
Are Parkruns not just 5ks? I've seen people say we need them in the US, but I never actually looked into them.
All are accurately measured 5Ks and are great idea! There are three Parkruns within a 15-20 minute drive of where I live.
Two are more like an easy high school XC course along nature trail loops; so maybe 20 seconds a mile slower than a road 5K. I would love to run one at a one of the faster courses like Bushy Park in the UK.
One of our local Parkruns has a pretty small turnout, but the other nearest to us has had an average of 80 -110 participants pretty much all Fall.
The are IMO excellent for a Saturday morning tempo run. Free timed events and all they ask is you volunteer (set up, record keeping, tear down etc.) once in a while.
They aren't cutting the corner - because of the large attendance at Bushy, they have a wide XC style start, which explains people starting on the grass.

this is why parkrun hasn’t taken off in the US like it has in other countries. Its success depends on people giving back.
Sonia O’Sullivan was a volunteer at the first parkrun I went to.

None where I live, in the small town called Los Angeles.
