This may be novel for a Chinese company and the reward levels are high, but plenty of US companies have wellness programs with rewards for achieving some number of steps/day as tracked by a step counter.
I don't recall the exact numbers for the programs I participated in, but it was several hundred dollars a year and I maxed out the benefit early as a runner. Each employee would get a step counter to track their daily steps and the steps were uploaded to a database to be tracked by the wellness program. The step counters were initially not particularly waterproof so didn't last long on a sweaty runner, but they eventually offered tracking with FitBit style devices albeit at a cost to the employee.
