Have you considered that Smith might have asked Brosnan to Flagstaff as a consultant? Perhaps to help turn around the underperforming Sahlman brothers?
that's not Flagstaff, pretty sure those videos are in Ventura, CA where they live. Lex, Leo, and Nico spending the holidays, Sean is there. little Newbury Park reunion.

Yeah, Mike Smith can't quite figure out how to get the Sahlmans to run well, so he goes to the smartest coach he knows and pays him to help figure it out. Sounds realistic.

Colin ran 1:46 and 3:38 as a freshman. That’s darn good!
He’ll probably start working at one to keep himself out of debt and minimize the gap in employment.
Then continue to look for the coaching job.
I’m sure he would rather work at a coffee shop than coach high school again
Not sure why he or others think high school is a bad option. It’s the only place he’s ever coached successfully and his best chance to maximize his pay. He has a CA teaching credential and could make over $100k where that would be a major stretch with any other coaching gig. He has one unsuccessful year in college, but a handful of epic years in high school. Why not prove you can do it in another situation and dispel the got lucky with 2 families narrative? Somehow he thinks high school is beneath him, but it’s really his best and maybe only option. I think his ego isn’t aligned with what is available to him.
He doesn’t need to go back to high school to prove he is a great coach. Do some research no other coach has produced more sub 9 kids in high school than Brosnan. Everyone thinks it was all Young’s and Salhman which is not true it’s a very long list. Also he didn’t have a bad performance year at UCLA. He simply pissed off people and wasn’t retained. He needs to coach college again…. i would let my kids run for this guy in a heartbeat.
How old are your children? If Brosnan is good, his athletes wouldn't be making large improvements in college. Seems he really didn't do anything for them in HS but just got lucky with talent.

Other than the Youngs and Sahlmans he coaches one officially under 9 (Appleford) and one unofficially at a time trial (Aschbrenner). Jesuit’s coach has coached 9 under 9. His coaching gig at UCLA was most definitely unsuccessful. He was fired. Stop gaslighting everyone about Brosnan’s greatness. He was a good high school coach and his best option for coaching and making a living is most definitely high school.
