Biggest sausage fest of the year. Bunch of male coaches acting like they’re on Spring break in college chasing after the 5 decent looking female coaches there. Several marriages will end due to this week. Distance symposiums look weak and only real “change” appears to be moving the Regional XC to week after conference meets to allow for 2 weeks before NCAA Championships.
Remember back when Sam Seemes started a Twitter account and went turbo-woke over programs getting cancelled in the early months of COVID 2020? Some of his tweets were fire af.

Let me sum it up. Meetings are cut short once again. Noting actually gets done at these conventions. Grad assistance and volunteers think they are networking, but they are actually just drinking with a bunch of dudes. I rebooked my flight home and leaving tomorrow. Last time I came to this convention was two years ago in Orlando, Florida. At least there I could sneak out to enjoy the weather. I’m officially done with this waste of time they call a coaches convention.

Goodnight
This is the most accurate description of the USTFCCCA convention I’ve seen yet.
I did not make then trip this year for those reasons. Last year was my first and last. So many things bad about this convention. They charge our universities a high fee to attend and they run out of food, not enough places to sit and dinner and lunch, meetings that are scheduled for 60min end up being 10-15min. There just seems no point in attending these meetings again. To each their own I guess.

USTFCCCA is a pointless organization that charges mandatory high fees $$$$ to universities in order to receive awards.
Vin Lannana said at the USATF Annual Meeting in Orlando that he wants to bring the NCAA Coaches back to it.
I can see the USATF being good if the the coaches actually had a voice. However, the USTFCCCA conversation is truly a waste of time. It’s just sound to make money.
I went in 2019 in Orlando. I took the Strength and Conditioning Course. That was all I was there for. I stayed in a sister hotel, and I remember I had difficulty parking at the JW Marriott. The course was good. I don't feel like they had a good grip on physiology, but the lifting protocol sequences as they relate to track was off the hook incredible.
I had lunch a couple of times with people taking the course and went out to dinner with a group another time.
I will admit that it had a different vibe than the USATF courses I had taken. There were definitely people there who were looking to let loose at night, go to strip joints, hook up, etc. I was not there for any of that, and neither were most of the people there. You find your friend group fairly quick.
While I was there, I connected someone I had met who had the right attitude with a contact I knew who was in attendance, and he landed an assistant coaching job at dinner so from first-hand experience I can tell you that happens.
I have not been back and would agree that Colorado is a poor choice as a setting this time of the year for track. I feel like changing it up to a place like San Diego every now and then would be a nice change. Most of us are from frigid places not really wanting to spend their free time in other frigid places.
