USATF Club Cross Country Championships 2023 Live, Schedule & TV Details Info

Why does this meet not allow clubs with international athletes? This would get better participation if they allowed OAC and BTC and NAZ to bring their best.
It seems silly to only allow Americans.

Because it’s an American amateur championship for Americans and amateurs.

For comparison the winning time today would have been about 170th at NCAAs when NCAAs were hosted in Tallahassee in 2021.

Yea, something was different this year. Everyone with whom I'm familiar ran like 4 minutes slower than I'd expect given their fitness.

Best CPTC men's result I can recall. High of 78 and windy in Tallahassee today, so maybe the heat and humidity relative to the time of year affected times. Last week was super slow in Tallahassee because of deep mud, streams, and rain.

For maybe a better comparison, these 2 guys both broke the 60-64 American record for 8k at the Ashenfelter thanksgiving day race. Both from cold weather states/cities.

It usually has lower participation when heading into Olympic years. Many people who would be running are either focused on hitting the track trials standard or focused on training for the marathon trials.

Everyone I know that didn't want to go to this year's meet seems to have PTSD from two years ago when it was last in Tallahassee. Looking at the weather today, I'm guessing they had no regrets.
