I saw the other thread and started this one as I think the OP made a typo. Now that I'm over 40, can someone tel me when it's no longer socially acceptable to run shirtless.
Or does age have nothing to do with it - just my dad bod?

Who gives a crap. You are ro MF jo, you run this city!
I think if you think you would be OK with seeing Wejo (your twin) running shirtless then it is OK for you to do so. But do it because it is warm and not to impress anybody. I think Prince once said a man over 40 shouldn’t go around shirtless and that may be a good rule of thumb, but I don’t think he was talking about runners.
I stopped running shirtless at 22. It's not even insecurity over my body, more that it didn't seem appropriate to be a half naked man running around town with all sorts of people around.
To each their own though.
beach, track, maybe trail running... very different to running on pavements or through cities.
It depends on the area of the USA you’re running in
you have to use your best judgment
I never run shirtless, because nobody is interested in my raccoon belly. :)
LRC note. We highly recommend you click on that link. It's not spam. It's a link to an article talking about how when a man died 91, his family knew which picture to put in the obituary - a picture of him running shirtless in the snow at age 83. RIP in Chi Ping Chan, you are an LRC legend.
This question is stupefying to non-Americans.

Rojo, aren’t you 50? Technically, that is over 40, I guess.
56 still run shirtless around the trails. The kangaroos look at me like I'm a little bit strange though.
Grew up in RVA so shirtless was the norm. Funny thing is that my guys have the shirts off at around 42 degrees! With the arm warmers on of course!
The erroneous comma in the thread title is killing me.
Note from Rojo: I took it out to help you out. Sorry about that. I was posting at 1:45 am after my son was up sick. The thread was initially titled, "At what age, do you stop running shirtless?"
As an Aussie who runs shirtless, what are you talking about mate?
At what age do people improve their knowledge and application of grammar?

Whoops meant to quote this. Aussies run shirtless too mate.
I wouldn't want to take my shirt off in public after I was done college although I do look good.
If someone wants to see it they must have to reach a consensual agreement that will result in an immediate escalation of activities relevant to a sexual manner.
Or perhaps if it's raining outside.
I’d be doing our female and gay counterparts a disservice to run with a shirt.
Ask this guy:
No one has any right to tell you that you must wear a shirt. Unless of course you are a coach of runners at a high school where they do not allow it, a woman, or indoors, or any other place of condition where it is against the rules. I heard this debated in the 1970s when I started running in junior high school. I thought it was a dumb question then, it still is today.
