Tuohy is still the People’s Champion

If you really wanted to support her, you'd stop making weird threads about her and let her enjoy her life.

She just lead her team to a THREE-PEAT while running sick. She WON.

Tuohy was never the people’s champion. Valby was. Valby is the one who captured hearts with her fearless front running style. Valby is the one who showed incredible potential by being so fast with limited miles run. Valby is the one who limped through the SEC track championship. Now Valby is both the People’s Champion and the NCAA Women’s Champion. Congratulations to Parker Valby!

Touhy knew she was having a tough day and fought for every place and second. It’s not like she just fell to the ground multiple times and then staggered in at 163rd.

Tuohy has the heart of a lion

I really like and respect Tuohy, and I expect her to bounce back as strong as ever from today’s setback. But pardon me if — across events, genders, distances, levels — the only current runner I acknowledge as the “People’s Champ” is Kawauchi.

Is there an update on what happened to her? Was she sick? Had a fever?

She's had such a stellar career and has brighter days ahead. Tuohy and Valby may well be Olympic teammates in the future. Good news for the USA.

You can celebrate her objectively fine collegiate career without proclaiming her 'the people's champion'. She isn't the NCAA XC champion this season. And if people want to decide that she is some sort of champion for her collegiate career, they can do so without you proclaiming it, or that she is 'America's sweetheart, on behalf of everyone.

Bounce back? Heard that after the 1500 prelim. Than after 1500 final. Then after her DNS. Then after USA. Then after Nuttycombe. Then after today. She sure bounces back.

Does anybody remember what the excuse was for track this year? She was sick again? Seems like she gets sick for each championship race....

Hot take -- Neither Parker or Katelyn will do anything at the pro level. Parker because she doesn't run enough, and Katelyn because she's already had too much wear and tear.

I wish she would have been on TV for the celebration with the team. Her running out of the tent later after hearing she won was not the surprise moment we think it is. She knew immediately and chose to not come out. But still a legend and my all time favorite. Just disappointed in her response.

Less than 1% of the country even knows who she is.

I look at it this way. Props to Parker Valby, always unafraid to take it out and dare anyone to stick with her. Props to Touhy for sticking it out and making the best of a bad day. I would never disrespect either of these fine runners, just enjoy the rivalry.
