Why is a team not the legit best selection if they win the trials in blazing hot temps? I remember her rueing how wrecked she was by the Atlanta course when the Olympic course wasn't even going to be hilly after all. I understand it was kind of for naught. But it did produce a tough team in that Molly medaled. One person medaling in the Olympics is better than a cross-country spread of 5,6,7 for consistency's sake. The outlier outlasted.
That was maybe Hall's best chance to make the marathon team and she could've done it on a flat course. But there is no way I think she would've done well in the Sapporo heat so it wouldn't have been the best team just because you run a flat course fast. Americans aren't the fastest so they just have to be the toughest if they're going to make it onto the podium.
Anyone know what posts she deleted?
