I focused on murder, because in the United States, I figure pretty much every murder that occurred over the past 60 years has been recorded. Which other crimes I figure it is more vallriable
Murder is not the only crime. Carjackings, assaults, store theft, etc.. Also many liberal A.G.s have essentially decriminalized many things that are actual crimes.
I apologize for the voice to text error. I indicated that WITH other crimes, the rate of reporting is variable, so that makes the statistics on the other crimes far more suspect. I chose the most trustworthy statistic. If you want, you can go through all of the crimes. I did give you data on a wide variety from 1960 to 2019. Given that data, it is extremely difficult to argue that crime is worse now than it was from 1970-1990.
Of course you can argue that it is still too high, but to view crime as being the worst it has ever been is to fall victim to media sensationalism.
Yes, it is lower now than it was during the absolute peak of American crime. It is lower now with advanced medical techniques that save the lives of peephole who would have died back then.
If you look at the disaster, center study, I listed, you will note that all crime report rates are significantly down from their peak, with the exception of rape reports which are equal to a previous peak(rape was the crime that I figured would be most influenced by willingness to report, and the effect of changes in willingness to report over time is why i chose murder)
it is very difficult to look at the data include and conclude anything other than that crime is significantly down from its peak.

Murder and GLA are the only things you can't falsely underreport by classifying as a lesser crime.

You're assuming the data hasn't been manipulated. Don't be gullible.
It is definitely out of control. Just booked a recently turned 13 year old kid into Juvie on a Rob 1 charge. He and his two friends held up a convenience store. The 13 year old held and pointed a firearm at the store clerk while demanding money. The other two stole as much cash and other items of value as they could. The 13 year old was arrested. The two other accomplices are at large although we know their names and one has been referred to us before on two other previous incidents. The 13 year old, despite having mental health issues, had been using meth and fentanyl over the previous 4-5 days. This is all "alleged" at this point in time but the arresting officer did make a detailed 10 page incident report and interviewed a number of witnesses.
Given his age and no previous criminal history he will probably not serve very much time if convicted. Maybe 15-36 weeks or possibly, but not likely, 65-104 weeks at the maximum.
Where do the people that say it's not serious live? Under a rock?
Poverty is the main reason. If we could eliminate poverty and make sure everyone has a decent wage and place to live with affordable (free?) health care we would eliminate so many problems.
It's so sad that more people don't understand this.
Bring back stocks, hard labor, bread and water and chain gangs for crimes like looting, car theft, child abuse, domestic abuse, illegal drug abuse, gang association, stealing from public funding, self enrichment during public office.

Giving out more free handouts will solve nothing. People can avoid extreme poverty by going to work and making smart life decisions. Hard working people who make responsible decisions should not have to pay for housing, Healthcare, food, etc. for those who refuse to take accountability in their own lives. It seems the more entitlements we provide, the worse the problem gets. Society cannot eliminate poverty as you say. Individuals can help themselves eliminate poverty by going to school, getting a job, working hard, and being responsible with life decisions (such as not getting a criminal record for example)

How about crimes of stealing classified documents or obstructing the election certification?

They live in >90% white and Asian suburbs
That’s so racist. So are you saying that black and Hispanic neighborhoods are more dangerous with a higher percentage of criminals and criminal activity around them?
