Tough competition to be sure. I’d put Jakob on the list over Chopra. Lyles and Chopra are the only ones on the list who didn’t break a world record, but Lyles won triple gold and put up another top 10 all-time mark in the 200. Chopra does not have a top 10 all-time mark in the javelin, and he didn’t even have the top mark in that event this year.
Jakob is nominated for Pokémaster of the year, mainly for his contributions to finding up the optimal moveset and EV-training for the tanky Garchomp strat in gen 9.
You may think this is some dull feat, but I can assure you it's kind of a big deal.
i hate this sort of stuff because some of these events have way less competition than the distance running (or sprinting). It is safe to say that if literally everyone tried to make it as a distance runner/sprinter, there still wouldn't be many/any better than Kiptum, Ingebrigtsen and Lyles in their respective events. But you can't tell me that in the field events that draw from a ridiculously small pool athletes like Crouser, Mondo and Chopra wouldn't be swamped by talents that possibly haven't even heard of those events.

PV and jav, maybe. Crouser is almost literally unbelievable, though. Not too many going to compete with him IMHO.
