Such a simple question, which is harder the Boston marathon course or the New York City course?
And for the NY and Boston champ it was a simple answer... NY.

Bill Rodgers said the same in 1976.

I agree. Neither course is easy, but. NYC is a little bit tougher.

The women just ran super slow The men's champ ran 2:04.
Boston is overrated and a net downhill course.

It's just her opinion.
Both are tough courses.
Of course it was harder for her today, she had to sprint the last 2k and if they ask her that question just after the finish that's what she's going to answer.
In Boston she knwe she was winning after turning left on Boylston St.
I can see how for the pros, NYC could be harder. The climb up 5th Ave into the hills in Central Park are the hardest closing miles in a major marathon. In Boston, the worst of the hills are over by mile 21 and the finishing miles are downhill with some rolling, but easy hills.
For the amateur, Boston is hands down the harder course because it is very difficult to measure out your energy in order to be able to climb all the big hills in Newton without bonking badly before climbing heartbreak hill. It is also very difficult to be able to train to be able to handle all the downhill running. But at NYC, the course is pretty tame up to the Queensborough bridge. As long as you do not get carried away with your pace the first 15 miles, you will be able to get through the hills in central park and 5th Ave without bonking.
That's just, like, her opinion man.
What has Hellen Obiri even done in the marathon? She's a track runner. She has no clue.
She should show some respect for the distance and show some respect for Boston and the BAA by saying it's the hardest most prestigious marathon in the world where all the best runners run to run fast and be the best.
