I’m a new runner and have been doing 5k for some time now. I think I have sprained my foot twice now, the first time was painful, the second time (now) isn’t. The pain is on and off and it doesn’t really bother me, did I increase my pain intolerance or something? Also, my foot usually heals by itself, meaning that if I don’t run, it hurts more, when I keep running, it doesn’t really hurt. I also have an underground toenail that I don’t know what to do, it doesn’t hurt but it looks scary Hope that make sense.
Having at least one pair of quality shoes is super important. Im a Nike guy and you’ve always heard the hype around the Pegasus as a good trainer. I would give the Next Nature Pegasus Turbo a try. If your more into get try out the Invisible 3 pairs with the tempo next % or Streakflys
with your foot I would definitely recommend something more bouncy. Streakflys are good but you shouldn’t use them every day. You probably have some overuse injury, it’s fairly common for them to hurt when you are not running and calm down while you are running.
credibility: I’m a 4:20 miler in High school who runs 50-60mpw. Majority done in the Pegasus Turbo… I’m on my 4th pair
The invincible 3 is a hit or miss for some people. Some of my friends hate it but I love it. It takes 20-30 miles to break in and you may experience “Hot spots” in the bottom of your feet. Relacing them usually solves that problem
The Normal Pegasus line is fine. Nothing more. It’s CAN do everything, nothing very well though, I find them to be super flat and not give anything back to you. The Turbos have a bit of bounce to them especially within the first 200 miles. Miles 300-400 are still a lot faster and more comfortable than I’ve experienced with the Original Pegasus line.
