Gotta hand it to my old man. 1:47 at 73 to win his age group in a major race. He’s dealt with his fair share of injuries through his running career but his current recipe for success is 40-50km of quality running per week and weight training X3 per week. Sounds like his addition of weight training (which he never used to do) along with lowering his weekly mileage by about 20km have been the biggest changes he’s made in the last 6 months or so which have kept the injuries at bay and see him perform at his best.
