Shoe companies are making a killing off of the everyday runner, robbing us blind, and Shoetubers are the messenger.
Atreyu. The Artist, their carbon plated racer which was $100, is now discounted and replaced with the new race model which will retail for $120. Interestingly enough... Mr. Kofuzi, when reviewing, their daily trainer, suggested that the daily trainer is priced correctly and their race model/ carbon plated shoe should be priced higher... Lo and behold. It's happened.
Not only that, but their base model is now also being discontinued, most likely coming back with a new version at a higher price.
Every time a new daily trainer or shoe comes on the market, a shoe tuber will get their hands on it and then suggest that $150 or $170 are" the average price for shoes these days" and that it is worth it.
Asics super blast was never blasted for its price by anyone, and these people just follow along for free shoes and suggest them to people. I'll always always always by last year's pair or some kind of pair on a discount rather than spending full price for these outrageously expensive shoes. I realize how these people live with the fact that they are inflating the prices of shoes for everyday middle class people and their benefiting from it for a little bit of attention. A couple of free shoes, some free race entries and that's about it. From a shoe tubers perspective the shoes and the gear are not the product. We are the product. End rant.
