Let the drama begin!!! Norwegian Federation going to pay up for discrimination unless someone presses charges!!
As someone who has been to Glasgow, I'd only lawyer up if I needed to get out of there.
I support him. Absolutely ridiculous decisions made by the powers at be.
Go Gjert!

You’ll need a translator as well.
This sort of pettiness is unbecoming of a country of Norway's reputation.
Let's go Jakob! Destroy the evil that is Gjert once and for all!
for him to do this, there is almost no way the rumors of child abuse are true. i can't imagine him dying on this hill if he knew there could be something horribly incriminating to come out of it.
The children will give the judge their honest truth and judgement will be done. It is that simple.

The Ingebrigsten are just afraid of going to Edinburgh

I don’t know. That logic makes sense, but at the same time abuse is often about control. Therefore an abuser may feel he has the power and control in a situation to keep the victim quiet, meek, not believable, etc. while beating back the challenge (and demonstrating he is still the one in control).
This is not to imply Gjert abused anyone —only that a decision to fight the ruling doesn’t necessarily rule out abuse as the allegation. Because if someone were guilty of abuse, then they would be a mentally sick person, and the typical rules of logic may not apply.

Obviously we don't know what precisely happened exactly, but hypothetically if we go off what the rumours were - it's not unthinkable that a child of X would lodge a complaint about being in the vicinity of X who has beaten their children in the past
It's not even about the athletes age, it's about the relationship they have and the actions the parent has or could perceivably elicit in their presence.
Obviously this could all be being stretched and twisted just as an excuse to keep the parent away, but I can understand why a Governing body would (have to) take the duty of care very seriously, whether the athlete is using it as a legitimate concern or not

Wait, what? Does Norway have a reputation for anything other than pettiness?
people seem to forget that Gjert also refuses to report what happened between them. It’s not just the brothers. This implies he might want to keep it secret and out of public as well

could very easily be that he is trying to not antagonize them further in hopes of repairing the relationship.

here in America, if someone bad mouths you but can't prove it, you don't need to say anything to prove your innocence. You're innocent because they had no proof, period. Your silence implies nothing besides that.
Maybe they have some sense in Norway after all.

He can't because it is illegal to spread sensitive information regarding minors in Norway. It is the only possible option.
Also... What kind of dad goes against all his children in a legal battle to protect his right to train an outsider? Gjert is one massive narcissist..

Maybe they signed a non disclosure agreement when the brothers bought him out of their joint company?

hitting your daughter is hardly "horribly incriminating". i would still fight this if I had hit my daughter, especially if she deserved it.
