Ryan Hall has definitely been putting up some marvelous performances in the last two years. His 13:16.03 pb from 2005 was the beginning of his breakthru to one of US best hopefuls. Ryan displayed great promise in high school as a potential miler; however, his personal best is only 3:42.70 from 2001. The 5000m mark overshadows his current 1500m and the 12km X-Country race show he could run a world class 10000m.
The X-Country course was hard and frozen therefore maybe have been alittle slick but definitely faster than a soft and muddy course. Ryan time would have him go thru 10000m in approximately 28:50 (considering he ran even pace, which is unlikely) and only slow slightly the last 2km. Could a healthy Alan Webb or Dathan Ritzenhein stay with Ryan Hall. Well Ritzenhein stated he was going for the win less than 2 wks ago in a runnersworld interview and couldn't handle Ryan Hall's pace. Tapering isn't an excuse Ritzenhein seemed to think he could win with his game plan at the time of the interview. Dathan and Ryan Hall are great young talents and now Ryan Hall has stamped his name as a potential threat to challenge Dathan in the 10000m if he choose to attempt it on the track.
What do you think of Ryan Hall's performance, could Dathan Ritzenhein beat Ryan Hall or did he run for place, can either of them finish in the TOP 20 at World X-Country long course? Should Ryan forget about the 1500m and become a 5000m/10000m man?
Could either US men's team finish top 5?

I personally think Ryan Hall ran a great race; however, he maybe hard press to finish ahead of Dathan Ritzenhein at Worlds. Ryan Hall inexperience and subpar performances on the world stage and Dathan's experience maybe what seperate the two. If Hall can at least match the intensity at World X-Country I wouldn't be surprised if he finished top 15, but I don't think he will match that 12km performance intensity at Worlds. I hope he prove me wrong.
