2 are locked: Cam and Malindi.
1 is likely? Natasha
Call it 3 spots up for grabs. Who gets them? Do we send 3 per gender?
I'm going with Rory, Kinsey and either Trevor or no 3rd male.

The 26:34 for 10000 Runner should be able to run A LOT FASTER than 2:08.10 in the Marathon, Could be 2:03 or even under that but he has not run one so probably 2:05-2:06 I will be SHOCKED if he cannot make the Canadian team in the Marathon He is BY FAR Canada's best Distance Runner even without experience in the Marathon, 2 and 3rd in the Berlin Marathon were making their debut and neither had 12:47 for 5000 and 26:34 For 10000, Though one had 8:09 Steeple Credentials which is very good, Ahmed WILL make the Marathon Team if he wants to

Wodak pretty close to a lock. 15th at worlds means from a purely ranking point of view she just needs one or two average half marathons she'll be fine from ranking points. Failing that, based on who she beat at worlds it does seem getting standard again won't be an issue for her.
I kind of want another good track athlete to have a crack at the marathon. Natasha and Malindi had genuine track success - Malindi 4:03 1500 wheels and Wodak was a 10k national record holder. I want to see someone like Seccafien have a crack in the near future. Call me greedy I'd love to see DeBues-Stafford have a go (not yet) at some point. Seeing what Wodak has achieved with Stellingwerff I'd love to see what a 14:30 5k woman could do over the marathon with the same coach.
Neither those two are relevant for Paris though. A dark horse would be if Leslie Sexton moved back up in distance. She's had the best track season of her career this last year so would be curious to see if that extra speed has raised her ceiling in the marathon.

i think 26:34 runner is still fine on the track, 2021 silver and some top 10 finishes in recent times. Although I can understand why folks are saying he should do it now as 2028 may be too late at 36-37 (unless your name is Kipchoge or Bekele)
Preisner? Woodfine? If Woodfine runs reasonably fast in Toronto (say 2:10) plus gets bonus points for national championships, he'd be in a good position. He's been a bit inconsistent the past few years though, but he's run that fast before.
Apparently Preisner & Trevor are running Valencia (?) I could also see Trevor hitting standard there on a good day.
0% chance Ahmed runs a marathon in the next year lol
Could a 26:21 8k runner run a good marathon?

Are we talking about the Special Olympics?
Americans want Rory to qualify because that guarantees 3 Americans.
The catch: It's registration-only. (Too high a bar for today's message board denizen?).
What’s the plan for your athlete (BM) to try to make the team SB? Assuming realistically there’s probably only 1 spot open for the women. I personally think she’s a cycle away from it but if she could sneak on it’d be great experience for the future.
We shall see aboot that when it gets closer, eh?

Hopefully Ahmed's done with the track after Paris so he switch to marathon training and easily claim North American records in the half and full marathon, would be hilarious for Canada to have 2 sub 2:05s and for America to continue embarrassing themselves.

Getting that 3rd spot has been a goal for sure, but not an urgent one. She's young, and she's entering the final stages of completing a PhD, which remains the priority for now. But she is planning to take at least one crack before the deadline, if things work out.
