Thanks to the stupid $500 Adidas Shoe, I'm going to buy a traditional racing flat and race my next marathon in it. I won't be breaking any world records, but I bet I can PR in that shoe. Why? Because it isn't about the shoe. It's about the training!

Seriously do you really want to be cripple after your race.I am sure many people on this board remembers the pain we had to endure both on race day and for days after the race.
Save yourself the pain and embrace technology
But will you be wearing the Big D on your shirt?
Is this an updated version of the Gel Hyper Speed, which was Ryan Hall's favorite marathon shoe, or is the "Hyper Speed 3" is an entirely different model?
Sticking it to the man

Asics current hyperspeed brand is just a minimal racing flat. It just focuses on light weight but with some of their special foam. No carbon plate stuff either.
I ran a HM in the Hyperspeed 1 and was fine. I couldn't imagine doing a marathon in them though.
The shoes you wear are your decision, but nobody is gonna applaud you for choosing to put yourself at a disadvantage
That is not a traditional racing flat. While it is a racing shoe, a flat has a lower stack height. A good definition is a forefoot below 20 mm in a men's size 9. I'd add 6 mm of drop or less, but there were 8-10 mm shoes that people qualified as flats. The only shoe on the US market that could be considered a racing flat is the saucony sinister. If this shoe works for you, you'd be smart to go with it though because you'd save a lot of money.

I thought about it but he went to this off shade of green for his hat, and I don't have shorts which match that color, so sadly no.
