Transgender women still running and winning as females six months since ban Exclusive: Team featuring transwoman was awarded first place as rules face backlash and rivals fear death threats
The transwoman who won a prize was awarded the prize in error and the results are being rectified.
And the rules allow transwomen to still compete in races they already entered prior to the ban.
It's not ideal, of course, but it does seem like those who campaigned to keep women's sport for women have got what they want but it's left a hole in their lives so they need to keep finding ways to drag it out.

The new rules set by World Athletics for elite international women's competitions have not been universally adopted, though. Males are still using gender identity claims to run and win in women's races - just not in races governed by WA that count in world rankings.
For example, over the summer, a male runner - Kaylee Horn, a captain in the Royal Canadian Air Force registered in the age 50-59 age group - was the overall winner in the women's 5K in a big Canada Day race. Horn easily beat out the entire field of female runners of all ages, including those in their teens and 20s such as teenage track star Amelia Van Brant, who came in second.
What's more, Horn's time unofficially set a new women's 5K World Masters record.
Males competing and winning in women's races is still going on in many countries in all tiers of the sport below the elite international level. This practice is still unfair - and it still has a significant dispiriting effect on female runners - even in races that are not elite international ones, and even when the male runners' wins and record-setting times in female compeition don't count in WA's world rankings.
But... but... we need to keep this issue alive to raise more money for the GOP candidates!
Why stop with the notion that men become women, women become men, boys become girls, girls become boys, simply by their identifying in the other category? Let's extend it to people convicted of crimes: if they identify as not guilty, we should respect their deeply held beliefs rather than the guilt they were wrongly assigned at trial. And pigs: if I choose to identify my pigs as women after applying lipstick to them, please respect my deeply held belief that they have become women.
This is about reality, buddy. You want to trivialize this madness as if it has no ramifications, as if only meanies or hating hateful haters are opposed to your view, that the folks with the mental disorder are not the people with gender dysphoria but the people who won't play along with this insanity. But it does have ramifications, and the opposition is well grounded in reality.
Why stop with the notion that men become women, women become men, boys become girls, girls become boys, simply by their identifying in the other category?
A classical strawman argument. Who said men could become women simply by identifying? Not me.

So according to you, now that World Athletics has finally seen fit to come up with rules that return fair play for female athletes competing at the highest levels of elite international track & field in events that have a bearing on world rankings, that should be enough?
Fairness for the female 51% of the population who aren't currently participating in the topmost tiers of international athletics is too much to ask?
The only female track & field athletes who deserve and have a right to demand fairness in the female category are those who've already made it to highest ranks of elite international competition, or are on their way?
All the girls and women participating in all the types and levels of track & field events that aren't elite international events and thus aren't subject to WA governance - such as high school and middle school sports in the USA - should just put up with the unfairness of males continuing to use gender identity claims to horn in on the female category?
Why? Please spell out the reasons why women and girls should put up with any males in female track & field at any levels.
The view of men like you on LRC that only elite female athletes have a right to male-free track & field - and all the rest of us should just shut up and accept the unfairness of entitled males pushily horning in on the category meant for and built by members of the female sex - isn't just sexist and misogynistic, it's blatantly elitist.

As a straight white man, I know that in certain areas -a women or a minority or gay person or even a vet will get preference over me. But you know what, I am willing to accept that for the greater good. It means that people have more opportunities. I am quite sure than 99% of girls who will NEVER have to deal with this are going to be okay. And to the 1%, I'm sorry, I really am. (just as I am sorry for every HS girl in CO who has to race Addy Ritz every week). It sucks for you but allowing trans people to play sports are more important than your feelings. Sports are the 1 thing that keeps kids engaged and trans kids are more likely than other kids to have problems. So why take away the 1 thing that can help them??

Reality will much more likely help them than kowtowing to their dysphoria.

The answer is VERY simple. The answer to your question is this, "No one is taking away anything from them. They are still allowed to play in sports. They are allowed to play sports in sex of their birth - just like your or me."
In my mind, we should never publicly talk about anyone's gender - it's should be viewed like religion - none of your business. If an XY chromosone person with a cock wants to wear a dress, so be it. But they will never be a biological female and biology is what sports categories are about. We don't ask boxers - what weight do you feel like. We weigh them.
Repeat after me. A transwoman isn't female and never will be. Look, I get it that these people have a lot of stuff that would be hard to deal with going on in their head but the longer this madness goes on the more I think we are doing them a disservice. The whole "A transwoman is a woman" slogan is a total lie. At best, it should be a "A transwoman is a transwoman" but I'd prefer "A transwoman is a biological male."
Please stop trotting out abused children like poor Becky Pepper Jackson to support your misogynistic crusade against girls & women being able to have sports and certain spaces & services that exclude males.
Just because you and others with regressively sexist ideas consider males like BPJ "too girly" and not masculine enough to be worthy of inclusion, acceptance, welcome and kind treatment in male sports & spaces doesn't mean it's fair or right to keep trying to shoehorn Becky and other boys like him into female sports & spaces.
Nor does it justify gaslighting this poor kid and the world into believing that just because BPJ and other boys like him have a preference for pink, long tresses and hair bows, it means they are really girls and they need to be given sterilizing, castrating hormones and surgeries to make up for supposedly having been "born in the wrong body."
Below is Becky's mother's explanation from Harper's Bazaar magazine of why she believes her son is a girl and thus belongs in girls' sports and girls' toilets and locker rooms. I've changed the pronouns for accuracy and to make the mother's appallingly regressive sexism patently clear:
At the very beginning, I knew Becky was different from [B's older] brothers. [B] started questioning [his] clothing at age 3. [B's] mannerisms were more feminine. [B would] take my shirts and wear them as dresses as [he] twirled around. [B] would also ask me to do [his] makeup, put bows in [his hair, and want to wear pink a lot.
[B] eventually told us that [his] body didn’t match who [he] was because [he] was a girl. We listened. We knew that being treated like a girl made [him] happy because it affirmed who [he] was. And that’s the thing: People often tell us we are forcing this on Becky. But no, you cannot force being trans—or any gender identity or sexual orientation—on anyone, just as no one has forced me to be cisgender and straight. This is who I am, and being a girl is who Becky is.

The gender morons, like the one above, can't just admit their beliefs were wrong and immoral even after the world has rejected them, so they cope by trying to demonize those who oppose them. Pathetic.
