If anyone does not understand what he meant when he said "I am the pacemaker" should watch his two most recent races.
Was he wearing sunglasses in the 3k in part to be able to see the wavelights better? Would this even work?

Yes, it was, and he said it worked, but also that it wasn’t important (as it turned out) in this race…

It's like back in the 70's when Bayi wasn't afraid to take it out. Watch that Commonwealth 1500 (back in the mid 70's- can't remember the year).

Tell that to the city of Edinburgh

He's the best since 1970's era Filbert Bayi. Flibert Bayi is probably the best ever world record holder "pacer" in history. He won the 1974 Commonwealth Games against one of the greatest 1500m fields ever and set the world record in 3:32 which was an incredible time back then. A year later he front led again and broke Jim Ryun's mile world record against another great field ; all as the pacer. Other great "pacers" include Ismael Kirui ( KEN ) in the 1993 World Championship 5,000 and there have been others of course, usually Kenyans! But Jakob is the best now and one of the greatest ever if not the greatest ever!
incredible run by kirui there. have to wonder what geb was thinking taking so long to go. maybe it was just inexperience and not knowing what he had in him. maybe they had the team tactics drilled into them so much, he wasn't willing or mentally able to leave the pack any earlier.
