Try to keep the threads on topic. This thread is for discussion about Wiley's potential and whether she can be the next Athing Mu. If you want to talk about Huntington/PEDs, do so in this Huntington/PEDs thread. Some talk about how one may doubt the legitimacy of the performances is allowed as they are in all threads on letsrun, but we do not need every thread going down the Huntington/PED path.
We also plan on requiring registration on Wiley related threads to cut down on the volume of posts and to keep the same few people from posting voluminous amounts of pro or anti Wiley posts.
And if you do post, please do no post false information or impersonate someone else. A possible act of felonious identity deception occurred in one of the threads on Tuesday and we are happy to cooperate with the authorities if they ask. Posts like those are less likely to happen if we require registration.
Mu's times have allowed her to make the US team in both the 800 and 1500, in addition to setting an American record, and winning 3 individual global championship medals. Wiley hasn't done any of those things.

Mu also beat Wiley convincingly when she ran that 4:03, so she probably is capable of a similar sub 4 clocking as well.
Might as well throw the 600 in there as well. I think Mu has about 11 or 12 seconds on Wiley in that event. Although with the "new" Wiley, that has miraculously cut off over 12 seconds from her 1500 and over 6 seconds from her 800 since the beginning of the year, who knows what she is capable of in that event?

Exactly, Mu set the American record in the 600 when she was a 16 year old in high school. Athing is an 800/400 specialist that not only won gold in the 800 in Tokyo but also anchored the 4x4 in 48.3. Yet she still qualified for the US WC team in the 1500. That’s real talent, no “chemistry” needed.
You did forget to write, as there are always nuances that matter, that Mu prioritized and shone in the 400 (ColR) and 800 (ColR) in her last U20 year. While she didn't race the 1500 seriously then.
Wiley is in fact 20 now - please take her times from her last U20 year which is 2022. And add the 400 to the mix with appropriate conversion factor to have proper weights on possible smaller 400 diffs.
400m NCAA champion. Multiple time US champion. 4 Medals. 1xSilver, 3x gold(including 4x4 gold) for Mu.
1 U23 NACAC gold medal and a bunch of NAIA titles which are all the equivalent of to a bag of Chips for Wiley with how superior she is to the NAIA/NACAC competition.

That's the secondary school math.
Not a good move to bold a mocking reference to math, in the same post you screw up Wiley's age.
She has yet to turn 20.
But it's exactly what I would expect from the anti-Wiley crew. They are holding cards that aren't worth a fraction of how it's portrayed here, not in terms of impacting Wiley's career or reputation.
I can just imagine that presentation. Lay it all out. Spit out every word from those linked articles. The officer turns and asks, "That's all very interesting. Do you have anything related to Addy Wiley?"
The complainant is in disbelief. "Don't you see? It's the same coach."
"Oh, you mean like Aaron Hernandez and Tom Brady were both coached by Bill Belichick?"
I may be exaggerating on the low end. Slightly. But it doesn't begin to compare to the ludicrous projections and assumptions around here in the opposite direction. It's going to be more than amusing to watch the frantic posts around here as Wiley's career takes off and those aged links are decimated by her smile.

Not really truth to be objective.
Progress can be sudden, Olympics are every 4 years only and sometimes they are delayed by a year like in 2021 where some teenage females wouldn't have won their medals in 2020 for sure. Worlds are biennial so sometimes you win due to such calendar sometimes not, and also sometimes they are year after year.
From this second point of view one have to take for calculations all events and proper conversion factors to have proper weights on smaller diffs for shorter events.
So the worst one could do is to be Internet-quick in their opinions while with serious lack of thorough education.

I would criticize your usual hand in the sand contribution, but it always gets deleted. Not worth the slight effort. How is Chemusto's career doing btw? Still a classic.

Don't forget the 400m. Mu should/could be a world class 400m runner right now. She is on a totally different level. The total times --- 400-1500m --- tell you how good Mu really is.
Also, she has won races. Has Wiley ever won a race that we care about? Worlds? Diamond League? Nationals? Olympics? NCAA? Winning is also important in sports.
