Watching this now cause of all the posts about Jakob, Gjert and Ingrid and so on. Skipped some episodes of early seasons and sometimes had it on background when I wasn't taking in every subtitle, so correct me if I'm wrong or add your impressions.
1) Jakob is very lucky to have Henrik and Filip as older brothers. They know everything Gjert is going to think and say but they have filters in their heads and know when to leave someone alone and how to separate coaching from having OCD. They gave Jakob the best of both worlds by showing what could be done by following the program but also having enough perspective to tease their dad and have a fast food burger, basically giving Jakob permission to tune out their dad at times. If he didn't have them, I think he'd be a robot or boy in a bubble similar to how people perceived Rupp.
[Obviously they are all lucky to have Gjert—just feel this doesn't need to be said. I teared up during the Olympics scene mostly cause of Gjert's reaction.]
2) Ingrid is working out twice a day by the time she's 14 but never really has a great race. Albeit, every race she enters is prob dominated by girls a couple years older, but she is racked with anxiety about getting it right. At the end of races, she is usually rueful about things she could have done but didn't. Is usually in better fitness than what the outcomes would say.
Jakob makes some mistakes in early races where he decides to do his own thing. These are big races and very conspicuous in the manner that he failed. In a 5,000 (I think WC) he's leading but starts his kick too early and ends up 5th. In a steeple WC, his first time at a Worlds, he's leading and pushes beyond his capabilities, falls on the last steeple and basically has a wipeout. I can't remember if he had much angst over these outcomes. Probably not if I can't remember.
The point is it is better to be rueful of what you did than what you didn't do. It made him a better racer.
3) Is Coke a sponsor of this show, or are they always having Coke and Fanta at dinner?
