She just walked away into the stands after the semi. Didn’t shake hands or say anything to a single person. I haven’t followed her but has she always been that arrogant or is this a new thing? Is she just sick and tired of running and being forced to do this by her coach, agent, and/or Nike?
Arrogance is sometimes a form of aggression spured by pent up anger in some capacity. So you can ask, what is bothering them or who hurt them? I would guess someone who contemplates quitting the sport in their prime is bothered by it.

She a) probably doesn't really want to be there, and b) was upset that she got tripped.

I know she is young and all, but for her to finish and not even acknowledge anyone else much less check that the woman who fell was OK is not a good look.
Her twist when she got tripped seemed unnatural, like she was considering turning around to confront who tripped her. Then storming off. Maybe she is ____ raging.

Tell me you've never raced competitively without telling me you've never raced competitively

^this. The Mu-critical sentiment is weird to me.
She is our best and figuring “it” out as a 20(?) year old that already has an Olympic and WC gold. WTF?
Mu isn’t arrogant. She’s confident and focused as hell! After being tripped and qualifying, she wasted no time starting her prep for the Final. Mu and Sydney sat near me at MTSAC Relays in April. There’s no one in the sport as warm, gracious and enthusiastic as these 2!
Seriously, Mu's personality has changed. It's actully similar to Syney's frosty personality after moving to the Kersee camp. It's actually odd.
I'm not quite sure why this got any downvotes - maybe just the spelling (?) - but of course we know exactly what you were trying to say...
But this version of the Athing Mu we are seeing in Budapest is not the same one we saw in either Tokyo or even Eugene - why are people so quick to jump on this as if it's such an egregious narrative?
She doesn't look happy to be there at all. She does look (confirmed with her body language), like she is extremely anxious/has the weight of the world on her shoulders.
And no it can't help to have had your coach set this all up declaring you could just as easily "be on vacation" instead of there racing. My guess is that she didn't actually want to do these championships at all but the Swoosh came in with some "gentle persuasion" (which btw as her employer they are entitled to do).
But to say she doesn't look miserable out there? Anyone who believes that is in complete denial for some bizarre reason.

Yes! We need to tell all women they need to smile more. No looking tough or determined - that's too intimidating to our fragile male egos. Smile and look demure, happy and sexy!
I think Mu just didn't want to spend an hour discussing 'the stumble' and 'finishing 2nd in a qualifying heat'. She may be a bit different now that she's a star w/ Kersee, but the tough face is just her game face. She's still a very nice person.
Syd is a bit shy and not always thrilled to interact with media and grown ups, but watch how much fun she has with kids, she's a goof.
Often you can do no right when you are a star. I also wish Syd and Mu raced more often, but I understand why they don't and still enjoy supporting them.
I think Mu looks great on the track. Her form and in-race composure best ever. She may not PR, but someone has to run 1:56 to beat her.
