Jakob- regular dragonflys
Kipyegon- regular dragonflys
Both set their wr’s this year in the victory 2 protptype. Is there a rule with no prototypes in the championships?

Sorry- Kipyegon had the zoomX victory rather than the dragonfly, but still not the prototype. Were they told not to wear them?
Yes I believe all shoes worn in Olympics and similar competitions must be available for purchase for all athletes. The proto dragonflies and victories are not available for purchase so they are against the rules. Although I’m surprised the diamond league doesn’t follow those same rules

Thank you for the clarification.
Truth is there are rules in place but no one *really* cares or can tell at a glance whether someone is wearing a proto or not - but there are more eyeballs on WC and Nike would rather not have their athletes risk a DQ for nothing.
I thought they just have to be available to other athletes...look at on's prototype
