She improved her pb by 4.03 meters to 69.49 - that's more than 13 feet!!
Her PB before tonight was 65.46m but she threw 65.56m in round three to make the final and then 69.49 to shock the world. Here is an interview we did with here

Incredible. This just never happens. It's throws, so it won't get the right amount of attention but this is just about as jaw-dropping a performance as I can remember.
Insane! Watching that was amazing
And her second best throw would have been good for silver! Two big throws at the right time.
She was #1933 on the all-time list. She is now #243.
Before tonight, Allman had 23 of the 24 longest throws in American history.
Allman was not amused.
She just about managed a congratulation, but you could tell it was tough for her.

I think a high schooler named Michael Carter might disagree with you. Four foot PR in the shot to throw 81+ feet.
Good for a Hawaiian to win given recent events
By Hawaii, you mean California.

My bad, her profile said she was born there and I just assumed
This post was removed.
She already throw around 67-68 in first qualification throw, but her foot stepped just on the edge of circle so it was foul.
OTC wins so many medals. I wonder why Max cut off OTC Coaches from USATF payroll.
She from Mount Miguel High School near OTC. That's very unsual to have a Gold Medalist that trains at a place next to her high school track and field.

After these last two championships, Allman will be throwing on pure hate in Paris.
She made that second-best throw while tears were still streaming down her face from having won the gold.
Alright… I’m American, supportive of all American athletes (Sha’Carri, Lyles, etc. etc.), and always want to see all of them do well.
But I always question huge performances that essentially come out of nowhere, like Amusan last year, and Jacobs in Tokyo. To me they heavily imply PED usage. So I hate to be that guy… but a 4 meter PB in the World Championships??!
Can anyone with a discus or general throwing background talk about how reasonable that is?
Bin Feng of China who placed 3rd today had a best of 66.00 meters heading into the 2022 WC in Eugene. Threw 69.12 on her first throw to seal the win.
Mike Powell had only ever jumped 8.60 four times in his life when he jumped 8.95 for the WR. Beamon's best was a wind-aided 8.39 when he jumped 8.90.
I don't know her obviously, but I heard she also has had numerous 68+ fouls recently, but to answer the Q, it really depends. Sometimes there are certain things an athlete sees in practice that just aren't clicking in the big meets and eventually they come and it makes the world of difference. It's obviously not normal for everyone to have a massive PR like that though (if it was no-one would care), but it doesn't automatically indicate PEDs.
For reference, Feng Bin who won last year also had a 3 meter PR to take it, and I'm pretty sure she is clean.
