Caesar was Brosnan transfer #4 from Cal St Fullerton. She ran the '19, '21 and '22 xc seasons, so that makes her a senior (or grad) at Utah. Can probably run right away since she never really started at UCLA. Best of luck to her, solid pickup for Utes.
Whoever takes the distance job will have it for one year. The Director wont be getting resigned
disagree^^^
I made this mistake last yr thinking AD and director Avery had decided to go all in on xc distance w/ even a few scholarships made available. For all the reasons people like UCLA, Brosnan would have dug in there and made it his base/legacy, but...
Now I agree with 1 and done. It will be 1 yr hire #4, and then it's a new director hire with whole new coach team.
What was UCLA’s mindset here? Did they think the team would stay together after firing the assistant coach so close to the season starting? Or do they just not care about the distance running part of the team?

What people don’t realize is that the transfer girls were initially going to stay. However, they were all promised scholarship that never came to fruition. Avery didn’t know about this and couldn’t set aside the scholarship for these girls. If Sean ever did stay, it would have been interesting to see how that played out.
UCLA will be fine. They will terrible during their final PAC-12 season. Once they enter the B1G, they will have the advantage of recruiting at home and from across the Midwest. Hire the right coach with good connections, then start poaching kids that would have settled for Nebraska, Indiana, or Illinois.

I’m surprised the Aussie 800m gal pitman hasn’t gone on the portal, but then again she wasn’t a Brosnan recruit, she got better under his guidance though

I find this hard to believe, but if it's true, offering kids and their parents athletic scholarships without acceptance from head coach, ad, registrar, compliance etc would be a good reason to can the assistant coach - distance.
We're writing Greg's script again.
"Honey, hope you're having fun at the beach. The coach called and said he won't be back next year...and we also got the school invoice. Call back when you get a chance."
