There is like a zero chance she is breaking a law and nothing isstopping them from reconfiguring the security lights sooo
maybe the neighbors should buy her some Pepto Bismol
Not enough info to come to a conclusion.
If she is running past on the street or sidewalk they need to reconfigure their lights. You have to be about half way up our driveway before our motion lights come on.
If for some reason she is cutting a ross private property she needs to stop.
This was a big fight in my household about a year ago. We have cameras that alert us and they kept going off at 3-4:00am. My wife was pissed that a female runner was disturbing her sleep running on the sidewalk at that hour. I suggested that we decrease the sensitivity to stop the false alarms. But that is too logical and easy and women are creatures governed by emotion. She felt the neighborhood needed to “do something” to stop this.
I am a runner and my wife is not.
Fortunately this runner must have changed her route voluntarily. I thought my wife’s opinion bordered on batsh!t crazy. People can run at whatever hour they want.
I tried cut/paste the article, but the letsrun site does not comply.
Basically the article claims that she is "disturbing the neighbors and causing havoc.."
Personally, I have run at 4AM, 5AM, for years, not anymore. But never heard anything.
Please. So triggers the lights but cars that pass by don’t? I don’t believe this story
People set up a device to wake them up anytime something moves at 5am, then are enraged when they are woken up at 5am anytime something moves. My neighborhood is full us people like this. Hilarious.
Not so funny when you are married to one. My wife’s exact words: “Why should we have to change our camera motion detection settings? She should not be running at that hour”
Oh I don’t know, maybe because we are the ones with the stupid unnecessary cameras that make alert noise if a Damn pin drops!
Some of these lights are incredibly sensitive. There is a light in my HOA that comes on every time someone walks on the public walkway all night long and shines light into two of my bedrooms. I tried fiddling with the settings a lot and finally gave up and installed a smart switch to control power to it and turn it off 10pm-sunrise. One ass neighbor of mine and his wife were really upset about it even though it had zero impact on their lives, so I told them to shove it. Thankfully, they soon sold and moved out and the new neighbors are more understanding. Actually the new neighbor bought and installed a new light there for his own security reasons but those lights (different brand) also had the same problem, so we continue to keep them off during sleeping hours.
You know she will only get more bat sh1t crazy as she ages, right?
Have fun in retirement
I’m 57 and I’m well aware of the truthfulness of your statement.
Sounds like a fake clickbait online "news" story. Not just one house with odd settings, but the ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD has their settings such that anything on the sidewalk will set off lights & alarms??
How about a cat or deer strolling thru the neighborhood? How about somebody out walking with fussy baby and a stroller? How about a neighbor's car?
I have not seen any neighborhoods where walking on the sidewalk at night sets off everybody's lights & security system. People aren't so dumb that they make their settings like that. Makes no sense.
"I thought my wife’s opinion bordered on batsh!t crazy."
Quote of the day.
I used to ride in the mornings and if I went up one particular hill there was a house with a dog that would go crazy.
Did I stop riding past that house at 6am? No, of course not. Dogs that bark at anything in the street are a menace. It was their owner’s choice to have it. I did feel a little bad for their neighbors, but not enough to avoid a public road with a great hill.
Absolutely. Any hour the runner wants to run as long as they remain on public streets, sidewalks and parks. It is the problem of the homeowner when their security equipment is activated by movement not on their property.
Wrong. I see it when I run pre-dawn or at night. Lights turning on as I make way up neighborhood streets. I couldn't care less.
Probably the Ring cam is catching her taking a poop behind somebody's bush.
I can see them being concerned about her safety, not about triggering security lights.
Are you going to get mad at the cats and raccoons for that?
Here is the real question: Is she hot?
That may be upsetting the wives in the neighborhood.
