I'm going to hop back on here.
I've been training inconsistently for the better part of 2 years.
I ran 18 miles in four days this week extremely slowly. I also spent 6 hours on the bike all in Z1/Z2.
I hope to get myself back in good aerobic shape by the fall. My plan is to just chip away it super slowly with comically slow paces and low HR training, but put in huge hours running and cycling. I'll add in strides and hill sprints in time. On the bike I'll throw in some sprints and some threshold work. I'd like to get into some weights as well, but we'll see if that comes to fruition.
It will be a while before I run a race, if ever. But I'm planning to try to train again, so here's to new beginnings!
Seppo - Welcome back! The posting on here has been light this summer, but hopefully that will pick back up in the fall.

Misplaced my Garmin for a few days. (My wife was out of town and it was chaotic just me and the kid.) Felt like a throwback to 1998-2016 when I didn’t time my easy runs.
Still recovering from being sick this week as well. And very ready for the weather to cool off. (6 more weeks?)

Dealing with runners knee, which is not a ailment I thought more serious runners got (similar to shin splits) but here we are. Run on Saturday was with family (slow) but mostly pain free. Going to try to run again today and work my way up. I have not been on-top of the exercises that should help it but have been using some anti-inflammatory cream and icing. Wife's training was going ok but she had one week of post-tib pain and is now taking a few days off. So we are both on the mend. We are traveling to Budapest for the final three days of Worlds (and running the open race 10k on the marathon course the final day) which will be fun but we are worried about the limitations these 'injuries' might impose. - RS
Sorry to hear on the runner's knee, RS. I actually have gotten it before, though it was self-inflicted from coming back to quickly from a marathon with my quads really not doing any of the work. Hoping for the best on your health and that's awesome for Budapest.
Happy to report I'm back in decent training, and I think I can put together a solid 5th Ave Mile possibly.

T: 6.1M @ ~ 8:00 (GPS cut out so approximate here)
W: 6.8 ft 12x400 w/1' rest followed by 2' rest and then 4x200m 2/ 1' rest (went to the East River Track for this one, averaged 80 for the 400s and 37s on the 200s, felt smooth)
TH: 5.8R @ 8:53
F: 7.6 ft. 5x1200T w/ 1' rest on lower res (rolling and not the fastest surface, I averaged around 6:20 on these, but wasn't stressing about pace, felt well within myself)
S: 6.9R @ 8:20 (GPS screwy again, but fun doing Summer Streets in NYC)
SU: 6M @ 8:12
Touch under 50 miles. Got the 5K tomorrow and it'll be pretty hot. Legs are in a good spot and I hope calf is good to go unlike my first 5K of the summer, so hoping for some improvement. Looks like the course (unlike the NYRR one) has the Prospect Park hill early, so I'll be looking to go out smart, be steady on the hills and then run strong the rest of way. Sub-19 would be solid given my lack of training coming in, after that we'll see.

Another consistent week. Feeling good and want to see what I can do while keeping healthy one week from now at the next Twilight race in DC.
