David Rudisha is still only 34. Some may think he'll come back to the sport. But when I clicked on an article of him being named an Amabassador to Worlds, I was stunned by how quickly he's let it go:
Ooh my goodness! You're still day dreaming of David Rudisha's comeback?
You must be very lambistic!!
Can you leave the dude to retire in peace!
800M is in safe hands! Currently Kenya has so many superstars in the 800M & even if Rudisha was to come back, it would be a tall order for him to keep up!
Talk of the two Emmanuels_ Korir & wanyonyi, Ferguson, Kinyamal, Alex, & many many many other upcoming teeming 800M Kenyan superstars

Clean or not clean, it’s not like he looked super “jacked” or ridiculously “cut” or anything when he was in his prime—he just looked like a tall, leggy, athletic man.
I bet going from training 50 mpw and living the lifestyle of an elite athlete to probably running 0 mpw for the last few years and relaxing his diet is the primary cause of his fat gain, don’t you think?
In addition to everything that’s already been said, there’s one more point: 34 is really old for elite 800m performance.
Eugene world’s final had a median age of 24. Only two athletes were 28+. No athletes were older than 30.
Keeping up with training demands of an elite 800 is tough for older athletes. Remaining in touch w/ speed enough to open 800s in 50.x while also keeping mileage high enough to sustain endurance is ridiculously taxing.
Let’s celebrate the career of the greatest half miler ever for what it was. And let’s give kudos to the man for choosing to serve as an an ambassador to the sport now that all’s said and done.

how he looked makes him more suspicious. the world record holder in the 800 didn't even have a 6 pack? because he is taking crazy chemicals to help his speed and endurance.
There’s little to no incentive for him to comeback since he has accomplished so much, anything but winning would be a failure.
hypothetically, if someone were to offer him a monetary incentive like hey I’ll give you 5 million dollars to get as fit as you can to make the Olympic team. I think you all would be surprised at what he could do with that kind of incentive. My guess is he was clean with all the resources at his disposal(medical, nutritionist, PT, living arrangements training environment and coach, he could muster himself back to a 1:44 guy but nothing more than that
If he was clean running 1:40 then I'm pretty sure he could still be the fastest clean Kenyan runner when he's 50....and at the 100m to marathon probably.

What makes him suspicious is the fact that there have been 250+ Kenyan doping busts, 65+ currently suspended with the head of the AIU stating the number will soar further with better testing, that 6 out of the fastest 11 Kenyan 800m runners in 2017 have been busted, that 1/3 of the men's team at London 2017 have been busted, that 5 out of 11 of the male Kenyan winners at the 2014,2016,2018 World U20 champs have been busted including both Kenyan 800m winners. Only a loon or a paid up Kenyan doping shill would not find a Kenyan running 1:40 suspicious before the ABP.
And if we want to get really hard headed, he stopped racing as soon as the ABP was beginning to bite, he mentored Elijah Manangoi, Brother Colm recently had an athlete busted...etc.

Ferguson Rotich?? Both him and Korir are clearly done (with doping). Wanyomi peaks in Kenya at the start of each season, and Kinyamal is probably pushing 30.

This makes me really sad to see. Though you’re probably unaware, this is a what the dopers want you to believe. Here’s the thing: drugs don’t really make you automatically faster. What they can do is allow you to train and recover at a superhuman level. They can also help you shed an inhuman amount of weight.
so people have it often all backwards, thanks to the lies that dopers tell you. “No one trains as hard as me” is code for doping. Insane muscle definition: more likely to come from doping. The dopers want you to believe that their performances come from a crazy work ethic. Which is true. But it’s not possible to train that hard without drugs. And training hard is easy. What’s hard is dealing with the aches and pains that stop you from training as hard as you’d like. The shortcut that dopers take is to take the human element out of training — they turn themselves into machines, able to hit their max without worry day in, day out.
same with the fat burning drugs. If you try to cut that weight naturally you’ll be wrecked. No energy left.
trust the athletes who run fast cause of talent. Who don’t look super cut. Who don’t have monster training regimens. Those are the clean athletes.
