Recommend On Cloudsurfer over Clifton. If you can, try them at a store.
Buy the knockoff Cliftons over at DHGate/AliExpress. Why pay $120 when you can pay $45 :)
If you don't like them, you won't feel as bad given what you spent. Just check the reviews of the store.
Hoka is trash and declining in quality. I haven't tried On but will not waste my money on Hoka anymore.
hokas dont last long if you're looking for a daily trainer
Yea, my kid loved Bondi 8s, but they do delaminate quickly. Seems like they need to do an easy fix? This is 2023.
I had the first version of the Challenger, which is basically the trail version of the Clifton, and I liked it a lot. For me it was durable and I liked it even for running on the roads. When I retired it from running I used it for short hikes and after that, it was my shoe to mow the lawn in.
After the Clifton I had the Clayton. I also like that shoe and it held up pretty well. Many had blister problems in the arch with the Clayton but I never experienced that .
Those were the only two Hokas I had so I can't really speak to the recent quality & durability. I now mostly run in Saucony and sometimes New Balance.
It's not on your list but the Saucony Triumph is a tremendous cushioned trainer that is durable. The Triumph 20 is great and can be found at a pretty big discount now. I haven't tried the 21 but those that have run in the 20 and now are in the 21 also like it.
Saucony Triumph 20 is like $55 ar AliExpress. Just go there and search "Victory 20"

I hate On. They don’t feel stable and are damn ugly. Love my Hoka Rincon. Cushiony, light and stable

I haven't tried the On Cloudsurfer, but with the exception of the Cloudmonster, all of On's shoes are bricks.
The Hoka Bondi and Clifton are fairly soft, but not as soft as the Nike Invincible and New Balance More.
Hoka feel great at first but like others said, the wear out quite quickly. For me a Clifton might get 400 miles, if the upper doesn't tear first. Whereas the Trimph 20 have gone 600-700 miles with no issues.
