Elise, Alicia, and Natosha all choosing to do 5k/10k double. I was wondering if Elise would scratch the 10k to help teammate Karissa in ( along with Elise mentioning not being a 10k runner) but no luck for Karissa this time.

Good call. Josette's back issues probably made the decision for Monson pretty easy to not scratch the 5. Schweizer on the other hand looked back to herself in a recent 1,500 and could certainly be competitive in a 10,000. I wonder if they should've gone all-in on the 5,000 instead of trying the 10,000 in retrospect. That being said, they wouldn't have known that Rogers would get in on Ranking and who knows if beating Rogers in the 5,000 was plausible anyway.
Fair enough but if we take Bobby at his word, it's either vacation or Worlds. That would mean that it won't be a decision made on the day or close. I guess we'll see, and given how things have gone until she starts the race it's hard to feel sure of anything.

Thinking the same . . . but upside to this is that Karissa may be better prepared for a fast 3k or 5k at this point . . . so she won't be rushed into an all-out 10k . . . expect to see some great races from her before the season wraps up.
Same for Grant . . . will now have an extra couple weeks to get better prepared for 3k or 5k races leading up to Pre . . . and, Sean had stated he would love to do the double . . . so he may not have been willing to give up his spot in the 10k despite Grant being a long-time friend.

Oh please. She’s got no back issues. Some bs excuse story. She’s just not good enough to be represented. And frankly Monson has no issue running both events as she rightfully deserves.
