Four-hundred meter performances have a stronger correlation to 800m performance than 1500m performances but that does not mean 400m to 800m is strongly correlated.
Pace differential for elite 400m/800m athletes is roughly equal to pace differential for elite 3000m to 1/2 Marathon athletes.
With 3000m, we cannot say: If athlete A runs 3000m in xx:xx.xx then 1/2 Marathon in time x:xx:xx.xx. Same for 400m to 800m.
O.P., I just looked at 400m female time standard. K H isn't even close. K H and her 400m ability isn't interesting at the moment.
It is interesting to her and those who follow her. She is working to improve her 400m time to help in going out faster in a 800m, that is all. She has no ambitions to be a "400m" runner. I thought that would be completely self-evident to anyone who understands the sport.

It is evident that most 800m runners would need to be in sub-51 400m condition to race sub-1:53 800m. Since K H will not race sub-1:53 800m this summer and most likely ever, her 400m time is no big deal. Did you read my first post? Even though correlation: 400m to 800m is stronger than 1500m to 800m, 400m to 800m correlation is not strong. My last post on this thread. Go ahead and continue to spam this site with K H's greatness.

WR is 1:53.2 by a woman who was sub 48 (1983). Very much ch faster than 51.
The only other sub 1:54 woman is a 1:53.4 with PB of 50.9 and 3:59.4 (1980)

That was an I.Q. statement I made. You got it wrong. All other readers of this thread around the globe did not respond as you responded.
All the sub-2 800m runners I know are males. The sample size of male sub-1:53 runners is significant. I made no comment on gender.

Right but, you also fail to mention that Jarmila was a 200/400 runner before any 800m career. Keely is all-around 800m, Her strength will prevail.

I like you man, you're good at the letsrun debates but, Keely is much much more unique than any 800m runner we have seen arguably in history. She went from 1:59 to 1:55 in 2021. And she hadn't even unlocked her potential. She doesn't NEED 400m Speed. She's got this.

You do realize Mu went from 2:01 to 1:55.04 in 2021? Now Keely's got to compete with Athing, who just unlocked her obvious 1500 potential. No, she ain't got this easy no way.
