Two charges for positive tests and two more for tampering. Lol. Apparently submitted falsified medical records and documents to try and explain away his positive tests. Good riddance.
…..aaaaand another Rosa athlete gets busted. Not that it means anything specifically, but he is followed by Kipchoge, Abel Kirui, and Kiplimo. Are the walls crumbling down of one big facade that we’ve all fallen for?
What I find interesting is that no competitions since November ‘21 and also the fact that he was in B/C level marathons in 2021 to begin with. Wonder if he’d been saddled with a questionable reputation and unable to get into a race since then etc.
Marathon runner Titus Ekiru faces a 10-year ban in a doping investigation centered on the race that currently ranks him as the sixth-fastest man of all-time in the event.
If you look at the fastest 7 Kenyans between 2017 and 2022, three of them have now been busted (Titus Ekiru, Lawrence Cherono, and Wilson Kipsang) and 2 of the remaining 4 have the same Italian coach as Ekiru (Evans Chebet and Amos Kipruto).

I see that it says Berardelli is/was Ekiru's coach, but I didn't think that he trained with the 2Running Club (almost all Adidas). Ekiru was Nike, Rosa, Kapsabet group, same as banned Marius Kipserem and Emmanuel Saina (I think) and 2:04 marathoner Rueben Kipyego. Ekiru was suspicious especially not racing for a while so not the biggest surprise. Rosa's Kenyan marathon group (Cherono based in Kaptagat I think) is really developing a bad reputation. Was at the same Milan marathon where Rosa swept the podium with Kipyego and Barnabas Kiptum 2nd and 3rd, both are yet to return to there 2:03-04 form
Here comes the deflections. Same exact playbook in every Kenyan doping bust thread. Ban these clowns, they clearly have an inability to compete fairly.
