Hi all. Tomorrow I am running my first road race in nearly four years (COVID hiatus). 10K. Should be fairly sunny, extremely humid, and warm enough to feel hot, even in the early morning. I do okay in the heat, but humidity can wreck me and I usually prefer to run road races in the colder months.
The two best shirts I have for this race are a somewhat fitted, darker gray shirt (will it absorb too much sunlight? Will it be uncomfortable if it’s fitted?) and a much looser white shirt. Both are dry-fit type running shirts. The gray one is more comfortable. I don’t own a singlet or a mesh shirt and I don’t have time to guy buy one. The other shirts I own don’t breathe as well.
If you were me, what shirt would you race in?
Not that it matters, but male, 38, been a runner for 26 years so I know how to read my body’s signals in the heat (even if I haven’t raced in a while), not aiming for anything particularly fast tomorrow. Thanks for your advice!
