Criteria: Who I favor to win in the next race taking into account recent form, race dynamics and pedigree. One 1500/Mile in 2023 required for the list, which is why Girma is not here yet.
1. Jakob (Last Ranked: 1)- NOR (Sub-3:28 at last, feels like further improvement is possible too with slightly more aggressive pacing)
2. Mohamed Katir (6)- ESP (Faded the last 100, but still was only racer to be right on Jakob the last 300)
3. Tim Cheruiyot (2) - KEN (Why do I have him above Yared? I think Tim fell asleep a bit mid-race and got caught running very wide the first 400, he closed in 40.7 for the last 300 and ran out of track)
4. Yared Nuguse (4) - USA (Can't be much doubt he is a real medal threat now, this race did show he will not have the huge finish in a fast, very honest race)
5. Oliver Hoare (7) - AUS (Faded a bit the last 100, but I'm going to give him the slight edge over some others who just edged him out based on his consistency and that he mixed it up within this race)
6. Mario Garcia Romo (NR) - ESP (Solidified that he's back at the top of his game in Oslo, which I was skeptical of until seeing it)
7. Azzedine Habz (NR) - FRA (Has put together some exceptional races at 800 and 1500, and has a killer finish if he can stay in contact)
8. Narve Nordas (NR) - NOR (All you can say is wow, this guy pretty much came out of nowhere, two huge breakthrough races in a row)
9. Reynold Cheruiyot (3) - KEN (Not even really his fault he falls so much, and it wouldn't shock me if he drops a huge PB in Europe to move within this list)
10. Josh Kerr (NR) - GBR (A solid performance, but a lot of work to do to get to the gold medal level he wants)
11. Neil Gourley (NR) - GBR (A big PB, but I definitely think he believes he can compete with the group that finished a second-plus ahead of him, though his chances improve in a slower race)
12. Abel Kipsang (8) - KEN (This year has been a step back for him in the 1500, but he's shown some good 800 form and performed well in Kenya, the optimistic view is he's timing his season better and is training through more)
13. Robert Farken (9) - GER (Need to see him in a high-level meeting)
14. Cooper Teare (10) - USA
