Faith's proud parents can bee seen here in the first picture standing next to Kitum on his left. On his right, it's the two Geoffreys, Kamworor and Kirui, who came with.
She says she'll use that cheque from the government to buy her dad a new car.
I know 800m training (and 800/1500m training) is rigorous, especially past a certain age. Faith Kipyegon had her fun breaking 5000m w.r. I hope and trust she will remain focused the remainder of the summer preparing for 1500m at World Championship.
Looks like the gov gave Faith about US $35k in cash and a house that costs around $40k as well
That's part of public housing that will be made even more affordable for athletes and artists at all levels. People don't realise most athletes are not wealthy.

That was her plan and I hope she sticks to it. She'd said she would permanently step up after thee Olympics next year.
surely Faith would be very wealthy already? she would have a lucrative contract with both NN running along with Nike. Given that those contracts are most likely paid in Euros and USD surely the conversion rate would be strongly in her favour in terms of the Kenyan economy?

I bet her Nike contract pays less than what Kara Goucher got in the '00s after winning a bronze at Worlds ($350k).

Here is old house of her parents as of 2016 in Ndabibit village near Keringet, Nakuru County in the Kenyan Rift Valley. Kipyegon paid for a new one (I had better article with better photos but can't find now):
Here is interesting article with biography and new parent's house (The Daily Nation - the highest circulation Kenyan independent newspaper - makes a lot of errors though):

New vehicles in Kenya are more expensive than in Europe and America. When rural Kenyans talk about a "car", they don't mean some hatchback for buying groceries and dropping the kids off at school. It's usually some heavy duty all-weather, all-terrain type good for off-road driving and hauling agricultural produce. Faith should surprise her dad with the Eliud Kipchoge limited edition Isuzu (though that would be too much of a flex even for her).
Isuzu East Africa says its special double cabin pick-up made to honour Kenyan long-distance runner Eliud Kipchoge will be priced at more than Sh9 million.
