My daily training shoes always get totally smushed in the forefoot after just a couple weeks of training. I'm a heavier runner (175 lbs) but running shoes really should last longer than that.
Standard EVA like the Hoka Clifton is smushed after 50 miles. Nike React is a little better, lasting more like 100-150 miles.
Is there a good lightweight trainer / foam combo on the market that can stand up to 300 miles? Saucony PWRRUN? New Balance FuelCell?
