I see a lot of debate on here about the impact that Vaporflys and Dragonflys have had on the record books for the elite (both international and high school runners) but I'm curious from coaches how they've affected the average runners on your team. I've heard it proposed that the shoes could have a bigger impact on weaker runners because they're not as efficient and also have more room to gain. Has there been a JV runner who drops the big bucks on shoe tech and suddenly they're cracking the top 7 and sending a technically better runner with inferior shoes off the squad? I'd love to hear this and start a discussion!
