I’m stunned by how big Hoka has become in such a short time span. I never even heard of this company 10 years ago, and now I see them everywhere. They had a prominent display at my local running store last time I was there, seemingly half of the guys in my running club wear them, and they just got nearly all of the best high school distance runners in the US to race each other in their Festival of Miles (which I thought was very well produced as an online spectator). Amazing!
Hoka was founded in 2009. Back then, I would have never believed that it would be possible for a new running shoe company to be so successful. I thought the market was already over saturated with Adidas, Asics, Brooks, Mizuno, New Balance, Nike, Saucony, etc. Hoka has proved me wrong. I hope there are business school professors using Hoka as one of their case studies.
