For sure. Assayi and Waskom have good kicks but if it they the race get into the mid 3:40's then Murphy or maybe even Strand have the potential to steal it.

possibly correct but im just going off his PB of 3:39 and there being a lot of guys that can close in 52/53 at 3:48 pace
Murphy can close down a sub 3:40 race as well, he did very early in the year winning in an early meet at Princeton in 3:39.x. He is a threat any way the wind blows.
Murphy has never run a time trial, so we really don't know how fast he can run. He did run a 1:47-high 800 split at the Big East meet and a 3:51 DMR anchor at Notre Dame.
Strand won ACCs in 3:38 with a 53.3 last lap. I thought he'd take it today based on that but holy crap Murphy crushed the field. Is he the nova guy who won the Penn Relays 4xmile with that crazy kick? The 1500 is going to be fantastic at nationals.
