Any of you ever go to a College that had slower track records than your HS team
my college’s 800 record is 1:50 but my former HS’s record is 1:49, thought it was funny. Anyone else ever have the same?

high school 2 mile record was 9:01. college was 9:04. even the 3k record wasn’t 8:38 until this year.
That's not too unusual. We've seen high schoolers who run 3:34 for 1400 (equal 3:50 for 1600) and 13:37 in the 5k.
95% of college programs will never get those top recruits. Good luck developing a 4:49 miler into a 3:33 runner. Those programs also don't have enough scholarships to go the international route.
I would imagine that there are a lot of Division III women's teams that have records that are comparably slower than a lot of high schools (particularly the high enrollment schools).
A small D3 college has faster records than NAU in both the mile and 800.
When Hobbes Kessler ran his 3:34 that was faster than every college record in America. So we know his HS record is better than all the colleges in the country.
My own high school had a boy who ran 1:47 a few years ago. That was insane. My college's record (D3) was 1:49. But that is nothing to be ashamed of.
There are a lot of D3 schools with times slower than what an "elite" high school program probably has.
Funny thread. Just goes to show how slow many of the posters are.
No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
