Tavon Underwood he’s already qualified for Saturday’s finals
100m - 10.5
200m-20.99
400m-47.35
and he already won the 800m in 1:51.9
Very impressive. Has probably not been done before. Knew some guys who had done the 100/200/400 and one of the sprint relays, but never the 800. Kind of reminds me of Berryhill. He won Oregon’s 400 and 800 championships and was a good receiver in football in high school. Top end sprint speed like that in an 800 runner is rare. The 400/800 double is rare due to the limited time between events
CO state meet is over 3 days now so it is easier to do 400/800 double. before that change only 4/5A boy to win the double was Boris Berrian. what Underwood is doing is quite impressive. very smoky conditions today and yesterday
not sure about the guys side but probably not. Maybe someone did it in like wyoming division 4 or something.
However, on the girls side Laura Roesler won:
100 title as a freshman, soph, and junior
200, 400, and 800 titles as freshman, soph, junior, and senior
between 2007 and 2010 in north dakota. lost her senior year 100 title 12.38 to 12.36.
I’m taking about in one meet.
Read that again, dude.
Laura Roesler did it in one meet THREE TIMES! And she almost did it a fourth, only losing the 100 her senior year, so she still tripled the 200, 400, 800 as a senior.
Victoria Bossong attempted it at the Maine class A state meet (big school division) in 2021. She won the 100 (11.73), 400 (55.08), and 800 (2:10.66) but was 2nd in the 200 (25.41).

And in a different meet won state xc as fr & soph. Did you know she's a mom?

She did all that while being a mom in highschool .... wow!

one day meet in Maine and it was a HOT day (90s)
Facinating. Was the 200m last? A 25.41 is very much not like the other times, which are all stellar.

When Boris did the 400/800 in 2010/2011, the schedule was still 400 prelims on Thursday, 800 finals on Friday, 400 finals on Saturday. Although, if I remember correctly, he did also run on what would have been the 1st or 2nd place 4x8 (DQed) which was right after the 400 prelims in addition to the prelims (Thursday)/finals (Saturday) on the winning 4x4 in 2011.
