Swimming, gymnastics and track & field fans can rejoice. For the first time in a European Olympics, those event finals will be televised live on network television in the United States.
Still need a subscription to what is otherwise a dismal network. I've never watched anything on this service. I don't mind paying, but this sign up and cancel non-sense irritates me. Pay X for Y, not pay X and you have to cancel or they keep dipping into your account month after month for years is not for me. Plus, it says not all track events, finals only. Maybe get to see prelims, maybe not.
Great news if you can watch tv in the middle of the day. For most people, it's irrelevant and they'll watch the replay/recap after they finish work.
Or you can record it and then watch it without the commercials.
For Tokyo I was able to watch streaming of every track and field event. It was the international feed without commentary. Honestly a little weird and at times not knowing information was a bummer.

1. I get called all kinds of horrible names on this board for being a teacher, but who's got the last laugh now!
2. Most World Cup matches were during the afternoon this year. Did people view those matches as irrelevant and just wait to watch the recaps later? No. They tuned in because it was a big deal.

That's not exactly true. You will need a subscription to Peacock if you want EVERYTHING to be available to you but the big sports such a track, swimming, etc. will be broadcast on the regular NBC channel live.

1. T&F schedule is August 1-11, you'll be in prep days and in-service with afternoon meetings. But sure, watch on your phone in a middle school bathroom stall as you giggle away. At least the marathons are on weekend days so you can be up by 2 a.m. or earlier to catch those.
2. In North America? Yep, they sure did unless it was on the weekend.

I pay $4.99 a month for Peacock. For me it's the bargain of the century. So cheap we don't even bother to cancel during off periods.

I agree. If you want to watch on your tv, you prob need either a cable subscription or youtubetv - and maybe peacock too. It would be nice to pay just for the percentage of the olympics I want to watch. The business model is hoping you forget to cancel or just keep it in case you get bored and want to watch some tv shows for a couple months.
79,000 swimming events allowing a single swimmer to win 73 medals in three days.
It will be a legitimately big deal this time because the world will be introduced to the Canadian prodigy Summer McIntosh, who is eligible to become the greatest of all time.
The opening night women's 400 meter freestyle race between McIntosh, Katie Ledecky and Ariarne Titmus will be the most hyped event of Paris, far beyond any track race, and the most heavily anticipated swimming race ever.

Major league baseball has 1:00pm games in the middle of the weekday and many teams sellout tickets. You still get 20 thousand plus for those who do not.
March madness begins in the morning when you are on the west coast when all the teams are still in.
How do these people have time for this sh*t? No idea.
