Hi fellow runners,
I'm looking for a non-barefoot running shoe with no heel drop, no toe taper and no toe spring. By non-barefoot I mean a running shoe with a 10-15mm sole for added cushioning for running on road and hard surfaces.
I've looked at plenty of barefoot / minimalistic shoes that feature no heel drop, no toe taper and no toe spring designs, but the soles are typically less than 7mm thin (insole included). This makes for very little mid-foot/forefoot cushioning on hard surfaces.
I've also tried the Altra Escalante Racer, which is advertised as a zero drop shoe. But it has a dramatic toe taper and toe lift. I really don't like this, as I'm used to a totally flat sole. I run trails in the Xero Mesa Trail II and love it. But unfortunately Xero does not have any models with a thicker sole.
Any suggestions? Thanks everyone!
