Hello LetsRun.
I am turning to you for advice on a lifting and a supplemental strength routine.
For context, I am a 19 year old female collegiate runner. I am distance oriented, running mostly xc and the 5000. I have been lifting for a couple of years and it has drastically improved my performances, especially my finishing kick.
However, my lifting routine is not running specific. I don't have much lifting knowledge and instead have simply trusted routine to do its job. I would like to know specifics of a quality lifting routine for distance runners, with information about what running specific lifts to do, how many sets/reps, and what days a week to do it. (Ex. how many days a week, on workout days or easy days, before or after runs, etc.)
If supplemental strength routines are helpful in addition to lifting, it would be great to know and know what exercises to do. (I'm thinking of hips, core, etc.)
Thanks LetsRun.
