I looked up the court records for Mary Cain's lawsuit she filed against Salazar and Nike she filed back in 10/11/2021. I wondered what happened to it since I haven't heard of a single piece of news anywhere and figured the lawsuit got dismissed for being frivolous.
To my surprise, the lawsuit is actually alive. It's just that American "justice" is truly glacial and moves slower than an 8 hour marathoner.
There have been quite a lot of pre-trial hearings with various judges and lawyers.
One of the big things to come out of the pre-trials is that Salazar got a big win by having Mary Cain's 4th claim against him totally dismissed. This was Mary Cain's claim against Salazar for "Employment Discrimination - Sex Discrimination" in her original lawsuit filing. There are only 4 total claims in the lawsuit so to have one of them totally dismissed before the real trial begins is big news, especially since this was the big one of Mary Cain claiming sex discrimination. I guess Mary Cain was blowing a lot of hot air and no substance for that claim. From the court records it states:
"11/25/2022 Judgment
Judicial Officer
Matarazzo, Judith H
Judgment Type
Judgment - Limited Dismissal
Comment
Comment (Dismisses Ptf's 4th claim for relief counts 1 & 2 for hostile work environment and disparate treatment)"
For the remaining 3 claims in Cain's lawsuit, the real trial has been set for 01/19/2024 over 15 days with the same judge as above who dismissed the 4th claim. Wow, American "justice" is so slow, my attention span doesn't last that long.
