USA now has 3 Americans that have hit the 2:09:40 qualifying standard for Budapest. Mantz Panning and Futsum. Boston only counts if you are top 5.
Also Lenny Korir ran 2:09:31 at Paris. So I guess Futsum is the alternate.
I’m pretty sure Eugene last summer is in the window, so Rupp and Kibet have the standard. I don’t think Rupp or Mantz will run though. Will probably be Kibet, Panning, and then Korir or Futsum
Welp, they're the ones with citizenship who can get within Stinger missile range of the podium on the world stage. You advocate to apply xenophobic standards arbitrarily to this one event and we're down to just Rupp and Mantz being eligible for international teams at this point, better hope they don't get injured. So why aren't our native-born WASPs developing to a respectable level at the marathon distance, overall?

Agree that it was a good run and that Futsum is in the mix for Orlando. Rotterdam is fast/flat and has good weather. If any American runs ~2:00-3:00 slower tomorrow (head wind, humid + slightly higher temps), I'd call it about the same effort.
