This thread was inititially entitled, "W&W Kill It at Mt SAC Women's 1500". We changed it as many people might have assumed the OP meant William and Mary.
Great for Stanford overall. Could be the tryout for 4x1500. Jenks! Look how far back Tanaka has come since indoor. W&W amazing Willis hates 1500/mile and her bff drags her to 4:13.

Champ Howell right there too.
I thought NC state would be the team to crush the Penn Relays 4×1500m but now I am not so sure.
Roisin didn't run the 1600/mile in high school very often . . . 4:41.46 pr from 2021 . . . prior 1500 pr was 4:30.16 from an indoor race in 2020 . . . so now this, along with her 1:59.13/800 pr and a 4x400 anchor split of 51.34, both gold-winning efforts at the U20 world champs last August . . .
Stanford with 5 women under 4:20 in same race . . . that ever happened? . . .
Stanford's schedule includes the Penn Relays in a couple weeks . . . women's 4x800 should be one of the most anticipated races of that meet . . . 4x1500 could be a record-setter as well . . .

if NC State had everyone at peak fitness they should win but Mareno is hurt and doesnt figure into this and i have a hard time believing that Savannah Shaw is close to her 4:16 PB fitness based on her past ~9 months. They would probably end up with a 4th in the 4:20's which would erase the advantage Tuohy would give them.
That's about an eight second pr equivalent for Willis, 4:33.5 for mile, and 4:32 for Whittaker, who previously was a significantly better miler. They are all that they were advertised and more.

We needed this year's Arkansas. Washington can be good too. W&W v Touhy at Franklin Field - Touhy's strength against 52/1:59 pretty compelling.
Most think no Touhy at Penn, but not impossible. Would require 3 weekend's in a row, but only 1500, 5k, relay leg. That would also be her complete outdoor season, as acc comes up next.
Touhy loves Penn, both brothers running & team relay. Henes understands the exposure state gets there. The 4x1500 last year was the distance highlight of ncaa regular season even in defeat.
In the good old days we had Roesler v Lipari 3x on anchor. Dmr, 4x8, 4xmile 3 days in a row.

X, Tyynismaa, Bush, Tuohy
3 compelling options for x, Chmiel can reliably roll 4:18-20, nice to use her here with all the history. Starliper, if she keeps getting fitter, more redemption. Hartman steadily improving ran 4:39 indoors makes rookie appearance on big stage.
Dmr also an option with Tyynismaa, Chapman, Bush, Touhy.

honestly i think Shaw/hartman would be a tough decision for Henes. Hartman opened at 4:22 and I think she has a sub 4:20 in her as all she's done is improve since stepping on campus. I dont think Shaw is in 4:16 shape like i said but 4:20-21 is definitely doable.
Starliper ran a 4:19 in high school but i still dont think she's quite back in race sharpness yet so low 4:20's is more likely though she did run a 4:25 in crappy conditions at Duke.
Chmiel is interesting. Her PB in college is 4:24 i think but i think anyone would think she is faster than that if she gave the event a consideration. But i wonder how much speedwork she has done at this point if she is focusing on the 10k.
Pre-Touhy (and nagging injury) Chmiel/Henes ran the 1200/1600 legs on dmr. She's a rock, you can count on 3:20/4:35 especially in leadoff even w/5k/10k training.

She's paced at several indoor/outdoor events. So she's been training but leads me to believe she isn't quite there yet herself. She paced at Camel City indoors and Raleigh Relays outdoors.

She also ran on DMR at NCAA championship - 3:24ish - 1 month ago
but back on topic, that's super impressive depth from Stanford. You have to think Whittaker has more in her as well.
W&W better have more in them . . . both are entered in the fast invite 800 heat tomorrow at 4:55 pm . . . their 800 outdoor openers . . . can they match Rose's 1:59.08 CL or break 1:59? . . . then are in the pool for the elite invite 4x400 relay heat 30 minutes later where Stanford looking to break the 3:29.+ SR . . .

Rose is running 1500m tomorrow at Bryan Clay in the same heat as Elise Cranny. After seeing these results I am wondering how fast she will go as well.
But to answer your question, I think we see a 1:58.×× tomorrow yes
