Who is the best 1500/middle distance coach in the NCAA? I’m a 4:03/1:52 high school junior and starting looking at schools. I want to know who the best coach is and why?

1. No one has contacted you?
2. Why not?
3. Have you reached out to anyone, if not why not, you should be doing that.
For my money, in my opinion, Marcus O'Sullivan is as good as there is , and ever was. I am biased because I know Marcus, but, when and if you are that good, he will get you there to be as good as you can be. Liam Murphy, who I never thought was a mile type prospect, I thought longer guy, ran 3:55 and 7:45 Indoors this year. He ran..I think 4:11-12 for 1600 in HS. Are you an American HS'er? 4:03 mile or 1600.

I will say murphy looked like he was about to run 4:07-09 or so at MOC before they rang the bell a lap early
Dave Smith is a great mid d coach and definitely OSU would be a top school for milers. ....But let's not pretend that the 2023 indoor DMR is reflective of OSUs UWs miler domination. First, 400 800 and 1200 legs are not equal for comparison to milers. Second, Washington had 6 in the mile run just before the DMR and, as expected won and placed 5 in the top 9. ...OSU had none.

Maybe nobody reached out to him since;
- zero US HS sophomore ran 4:03 in 2022
- zero US HS juniors has run 4:03 in 2023
Therefore, this theoretical HS junior who has run 4:03/1:52 does not exist. Making him hard to reach.

You are WRONG. Here are the facts:
1. OSU beat UW twice in the DMR. Once at Arkansas to get the Collegiate Record. Then they DOMINATED UW at NCAAs. UW placed a pathetic 4th in the DMR behind Ole Miss and Wisconsin
2. UW's top miler, Waskom, was CRUSHED by OSU's Messaoudi by nearly 3 seconds on the 1200 leg. There is no doubt Messaudi could have won the mile at NCAA's but he went for the 3k instead.
3. Kieran Lumb was fresh as the anchor of the DMR, receiving the baton nearly 2 seconds ahead of Ole Miss but GOT PASSED a random dude. He ran 3:59.72 to Ole Miss' 3:57.5. No excuses there.
4. Most of the UW milers transferred in at the age of 22 or older.
Just a thought, but the "best coach" argument is probably not best settled by which coach's relay or athletes happened to come out on top in the last NCAA championship.
I would prefer to look at who produces excellent results for the majority of their athletes on a consistent basis, both in absolute terms and in terms of progression.

None of that matters. What matters is who is obviously the best. There is no other option than Brosnan. It's just a fact.
