Hard to find the time to get in miles these days. Barely getting in regular runs, probably less than 20mpw right now. Doing 6xk, 90” on the treadmill once a week to have some sort of workout. Planning to do a marathon in September, so I’m wondering what’s the fastest way I can safely build up an aerobic base for that. The most mileage I’ve done in the past was 75ish mpw — several years ago. I don’t think I can feasibly get back to that quickly without risk of some injury or overtraining. Is cross-training on a bike a safer bet? Will the risk of overtraining be similar? Thanks.
